Are you looking for a partner to provide comprehensive support for your heating oil tank system? Our Total plant management covers all necessary work, including tank cleaning, maintenance of the leak indicator, cathodic protection, level indicator, filling and burst protection. In addition, the Oil management continuous digital stock monitoring. On request, we can also take over the Complete supply management for you.
Oil filtration
Oil filtration is typically carried out in the context of a tank refurbishment, an inspection of heavily contaminated heating oil or a decommissioning. Using special filters, particles can be up to 2 µm (micrometers) can be eliminated. This makes a key contribution to increased operational safety of oil burners and diesel vehicles by:
- the clogging of burner nozzles is prevented.
- This prevents clogging of oil lines, prevents clogging of burner nozzles and thus removes residues in the heating or diesel oil and delays the ageing process.
- residues in the heating or diesel oil can be removed and the ageing process delayed.
Product change
Changing the medium stored in the tank always requires precise technical clarification:
- Which product should be stored in the future?
- Is there an internal coating or a coating inside the tank?
- What is the condition of the lines to the dispensers and the vapor recovery and vent lines? To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend inspecting and testing the inside of the tank beforehand.
To ensure a smooth process, it is advisable to open and thoroughly inspect the tank beforehand. We offer you our professional support for this.
Leak Detection Devices
Leak warning devices (leak detection devices) are used to continuously monitor your tank system and trigger an alarm in the event of potential leaks.
We distinguish between the following monitoring systems (maintenance interval: every two years):
- Low-vacuum base: For monitoring leak protection linings (e.g. PVC inner linings)
- High-vacuum basis: For monitoring tanks that store media with a flash point above 55°C
- Pressure base: For monitoring product lines and double-walled tanks for media with a flash point below 55°C (e.g. petrol)
- Liquid-based: For monitoring tank shafts
The space between the two tank walls is permanently monitored by means of vacuum or pressure. In the event of a leak in one of the walls, a visual and audible alarm.
Service agreement
We will provide you with a customized service agreement to ensure that the regular, legally prescribed service and professional maintenance of your leak detector is fully complied with.
Cathodic protection systems
Cathodic corrosion protection (CCP) is an electrochemical process that reliably inhibits the formation of corrosion. This system makes a significant contribution to extending the service life of your oil tank and protecting the environment.
Cathode protection
Functional principle of the KKS:
Corrosion occurs when an electric current flows from metal structures (such as pipes or tanks) into the surrounding electrolyte (soil or water). This charge exchange leads to the release of metal particles on the surface and thus to the destruction of the material.
The KKS is an electrochemical protection process that reverses this process:
- A direct electric current is conducted to the metal structures to be protected.
- This protective current causes a cathodic polarization of the metal surface, which reverses the original direction of flow of the corrosion current.
- The current now flows in the opposite direction – from the electrolyte towards the protected object.
- Corrosion is completely prevented as no more current escapes from the metal structure.
Note: We always recommend checking the cathodic protection system at the same time as servicing the leak detector.
Level indicators
We offer you various options for transparent monitoring of your heating oil stock:
- Manual gauges (dipstick): The dipstick is the most direct and legally prescribed basic method (with the exception of small tank systems).
- Mechanical indicators (dial gauges): These are an uncomplicated and cost-effective solution, but do not offer one hundred percent precision.
- Electronic displays: These battery-operated devices measure the fill level precisely using ultrasound or light and can transmit measurement results via e-mail or SMS if required.
The electronic level indicators are characterized by high precision and can transmit the measurement results via e-mail or SMS on request. For mobile monitoring of your heating oil stock, please consult the oil management section.
Oil management
An intelligent oil management system ensures constant transparency about your heating oil stock.
Oil management
An autonomous measuring system measures the fill level every five hours and regularly transmits the data to our server. The system serves as proactive purchasing support: you receive an automatic notification (e-mail or SMS) when the fill level reaches the threshold values of 30 % and 15 %.
Overfill Prevention Devices
Filling safety devices are electro-optical probes that are connected to the tanker during the filling process. When the maximum fill level is reached, the probe triggers a pulse that prevents the tank from overfilling. A mechanical overfill prevention device serves the same purpose, but is only recommended if filling cannot be carried out by a tanker.
Bursting safety devices
Bursting safety devices
Overpressure protection (burst protection) is mandatory for cellar tanks. This special spring valve is used to limit the pressure in the tank to the permissible test pressure. If the overpressure is not regulated, there is a risk of tank deformation or explosion. The valve also prevents oil from escaping into the cellar via the vent line. Any escaping oil is collected in the drip tray.

Frequently asked questions
When is a tank inspection with internal cleaning recommended?
We recommend that you overhaul a heating oil tank every ten years, including internal cleaning.
Where can the date of the last revision be viewed?
The date of the last work carried out can be found on the sticker attached to the tank compartment door.
Are there additional costs for a tank overhaul in winter?
No. We will provide you with a provisional heating system free of charge, provisional oil feed for the heating.
I have only recently filled the tank. What is the maximum amount of oil that can be removed without additional costs?
The maximum quantity that can be removed free of charge is 15,000 liters. However, it is essential that we receive detailed information about your stock so that we can plan the correct tank trailer for temporary storage. The simplest method of measurement is to use the dipstick.
