Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil – The future-oriented diesel substitute.

Advantages

Reducing emissions as a strategic goal: Do you want to reduceyour fleet’s CO2 emissions by 90 % immediately? Switching to HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) makes this step possible without costly conversion measures.

Your advantages at a glance:

Field of application

HVO is currently available at specific filling stations (currently available in Lyss). Its use is particularly recommended for Commercial enterprises with their own storage and refueling of their vehicles. This includes Transport companies, agricultural businesses and construction machinery companies etc.

HVO is Fully compatible with all common diesel engines and the entire existing distribution infrastructure – from the refinery to the tank system to the end consumer. The changeover is made by simply refueling, allowing you to start reducing emissions immediately.

Storage requirements

Hydrogenated vegetable oils (HVO) can be used in your existing tank infrastructure. When planning new or additional tanks we will be happy to advise you to find the optimum solution.

If you intend to use existing tank systems for HVO, please note the following technical requirements:

Facts and figures

Here you will find current information:

The higher cetane number of HVO leads to significantly more efficient combustion compared to fossil diesel. Despite the lower density, there is no additional consumption in practice compared to fossil diesel.

In contrast to fossil diesel, HVO is practically free of sulphur and aromatics. This means that almost no nitrogen oxides and soot particles are produced during combustion. This leads to improved air quality and less pollution for people and the environment.

Frequently asked questions:

Does HVO develop a typical diesel odor?

No. HVO is largely odorless in liquid and gaseous form.

Is every diesel engine suitable for operation with HVO?

In principle, operation is possible. However, to be absolutely sure, it is advisable to consult the vehicle manufacturer or supplier. You can find more information on this website.
